A WINE AND FOOD JOURNEY THROUGH THE FLAVOURS OF FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
A weekend marked by learning the correct approach to wine tasting and to matching food and wine, followed step by step by a gourmet entertainer.
3 days, 2 nights € 340,00
1st day: In the morning, arrival in Friuli Venezia Giulia and check-in at a "Cantina del Buon Dormire" near Cividale. In the afternoon, guided tour of a farm located in the RDO area of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, followed by wine tasting with an "Approach to wine" mini-course, held by oenologists and experts. Dinner near Cividale with a tasting menu with typical, local seasonal dishes at a renowned "trattoria". Overnight stay.
2nd day: In the morning, guided tour of a recently refurbished wine-cellar in the Friuli Grave RDO area, followed by wine tasting. In the afternoon, free tour of San Daniele del Friuli, a little town in the Province of Udine, famous the world over for its hams. Guided tour of a ham factory and tasting of the delicious PDO Raw Ham. Dinner in the San Daniele area based on typical Friulian dishes prepared with this wonderful product. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
3rd day: In the morning, guided tour of a farm with an old distillery near Gorizia, followed by tasting of different kinds of grappa and distillates. Lunch at a farm restaurant, with an à la carte menu. End of services.
Price includes:
2 nights at a farmhouse;
1 "Approach to Wine" mini-course lasting around 2 hours, including wine tasting and a lesson on the correct approach to the various tasting stages;
1 guided tour of a ham factory, including ham tasting,
2 guided tours in a wine cellar with tasting of different wine;
1 guided tour of a distillery with tasting session;
2 dinners (excluding wine and drinks);
1 "Lungo le Strade del Vino" (Along the Wine Roads) guide-book.
