Trieste and coffee
An opportunity to become "coffee sommeliers" in collaboration with illycaffè
2 days, 1 night price on request
1st day: Arrival in Trieste. In the afternoon meeting with the guide for a tour of the town, including the Borgo Teresiano with its elegant palaces and the picturesque Greek-Orthodox and Serbian-orthodox churches, Piazza della Borsa with the majestic building of the Borsa vecchia (the old Stock Exchange), and Piazza Unità d'Italia, the largest square in Europe facing directly onto the sea and known as the "heart" of Trieste, because of the sumptuous buildings surrounding it. During the tour, stop for a sweet snack in one of the historic cafes of the town. Weather permitting, we will also visit the Cavana and Crosada old town centre, as well as the San Giusto Hill with its beautiful Cathedral. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel. Dinner at a restaurant. Overnight stay.
2nd day: Breakfast. In the morning there will be a course offering you the opportunity to become real coffee "experts". This sensory tour will contribute to develop a particular sensitivity, which will help you tell between "good" or "bad" coffee. After the course, lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit the historic cafés in the town centre, such as the Caffè San Marco, the Caffè Tommaseo, and the Caffè degli Specchi, set within the charming Piazza Unità d'Italia, where you'll have the chance to put your taste buds to the test...
